| Programming Instructions | 1996 - 2000 Hyundai Elantra Obtain all remote transmitters for this vehicle. 1. Locate the keyless entry module, it will be located under the dashboard on the driver's side of the vehicle above the fuse panel. Coming from the module there should be two wires, one black and one white, they will typically go to nothing but can lead to a valet switch. 2. Insert key into ignition and turn the ignition switch to the ON position. If wires run to the valet switch you can just press and release the switch 13 times. If the wires are not connected to anything then you must remove a little insulation on the end of each wire and touch the bare metal of the wires together 13 times. 3. Press button number 1 on the remote. 4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Press button 1 on the remote, doors should Lock and Unlock automatically. If the doors do not lock automatically then return to step 2. 5. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Press the valet switch 14 times or contact the metal from white wire to black wire 14 times. 6. Press button 2 on the remote. 7. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Press button 1 on the remote, driver's door should unlock, if it lock hit button 1 again and driver's door should unlock. Press button 2 and all doors should unlock.
2000 Hyundai Sonata Obtain all remote transmitters for this vehicle. 1. Remove center fascia (the plate surrounding the radio) and locate the alarm system control module. Ensure that the memory switch is in the OFF position. 2. Insert key into the ignition and turn ignition to the ON position. 3. After 5 seconds slide the switch on the alarm system control module to the SET position. 4. Press the LOCK button on the first remote to be programmed. 5. If programming a second remote press the LOCK button on the second remote. 6. Slide the switch on the alarm system control module to the OFF position. 7. Turn the ignition OFF and remove key. Replace center fascia. 8. Programming is now complete, test remotes to ensure proper programming. |
